Pascal and Latoya Posted by nighty-01 on Mar 13, 2009
Hi guys!

I tried to post this yesterday, but the power went out.
Well, I'm more like the drawing kind... I have only made a puppet once (It's on the first topic I made as introduction :} ) But just when I finished it, I became eager to make more! Here I have two designs.. first I drew them and secondly writen them (what they are like, what things they love, the things they hate.. where they are from.. etc)

And though I find Latoya's design to be easier (I've been looking at Paul's tutorial and I think I'd go for it)... I'm more fond of Pascal for whatever reason...

Well, I just wanted to know what was your opinion on this... keeping in mind that I'm a newbie to the whole thing, who should I start with ? (I think I'd go for the rod arm puppet kind this time) And once choosing either of them, do you have any advise for their making? :3

Latoya is easier to make because of the head shape.  She is one sexy puppet potential.

I really like the other two as well......however get Latoya under you belt then consider doing the other two drawings......By the way your drawing ability it amazing.....I am envious....I can envision but I can't draw it from my head to paper like you can.  Great work.

Welcome to the group!!!
I too started out more from the drawing/artist side. As a freelance cartoonist, I wanted to create my characters into puppets. Here you will find tons of great information to get you up and building in no time. I really like your character designs....very Muppet-ish(right up my alley) LOL

can't wait to see your puppets!!

<333 thanks for the comments guys! I wished my puppet crafting skills were as good as yours are so we're square xD;

I'll follow your advise Stiqman, and go for Latoya... are theyre any tips on rod arm puppets that don't appear in Paul's tutorial? :3

Here are a few different arm rod tutorials. When you say Paul I assume you mean the expert village videos, and the arm rods constructed there are very basic. These guides will give you some ideas on how to make better arm rods.
