Finally something has made it...... Posted by StiqPuppet Productions on Mar 17, 2009
I have made many puppets for pilot projects and unfortunately they don't make it very far and most of my work cannot be shown due to the request of the producers (in case someone later on picks it up).....However one isn't famous right at this point but it has made it to the web.  The puppets are made by myself based on drawings and a models that was made.  They were suppose to be made with a video camera built into there heads (why the heads are so high) but then things changed at the last minute and they now hold a camera as needed (we were going to put a web cam in the head and hidden under there hair/hat).  They made 12 episodes and they are done in french.

These two are aliens (the female is the bright one and the male is not so bright) are visiting the planet earth in (bad) disguise as humans.....they do reports (by the camera) which is zapped back to there space ship about there adventures and let the other aliens understand our planet better.  They start falling in love as they spend more time together.  All locations are based on famous places in British Columbia.

They film on location and the puppets are green screened when put together they look like they are there.  I spent a few days in front of the green screen and the taping as a consultant for them.  I can't speak french so I was unable to be a puppeteer for this filming......I find so far that most projects I do either need a female for a voice (female puppeteer) or they are done in a different language......so I have missed many oppurtunities also gain a few along the way.  I have pictures of the puppets before and after a few small changes (I had a blond wig on the female but the green screen reflected off the hair and lowered the quality of the effect due to this fact).

Below is the links to all 12 video's...I picked out a few that I like to highlight about BC (I was having a problem with the video's skipping around a little but I discovered of you click the HD botton and turn it off they don't skip any more). The overall feel for these are great and they are planning to possibly make some more but that is in the works.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.....

Here is my original puppets before they were altered a little by them to meet the green screen requirements.
As well as the original drawings of the puppets by another person....they look a little phallic in the drawing.

Congratulations on Nancy and Leonard's success! I like the way Nancy's lipstick blends so smoothly into the skin color. Really neat looking aliens.

I don't understand French at all, so I haven't a clue what they are talking about, but it was good to see a little bit of Gastown. A thousand years ago, in my college days, Gastown was a favorite destination among my friends for an evening out and a good restaurant.

Excellent puppets and nostalgia, what a great combination!

Hey Stiqman,

The puppets look great.  The videos have a great look to them as well.  You should be proud.

Awesome puppets, exactly the kind of work we would expect from you.

The videos look good unfortunately like Chris I don't know french.

Hope it catches on even more

Thanks everyone ......it is nice to share something even though it has been about 5 months since filming and at least another 3 months previous from the first talks to the finished puppets.....it can take so long from start to finish but the end results are rewarding.
