Tall Ted's Puppet Party. Posted by Henry on Mar 18, 2009
Hi Puppets and Stuff friends.
For a while now one of my "Costume Puppets" Tall Ted has been entertaining the children at my local library with Story Time sessions.
So far he as covered Magic, Music, Manners, Bed Time and Road Safety but this coming Thursday he is pulling out all the stops and is going to present "Tall Ted's Puppet Party Story Time".
The show will cover introducing the preschool children to six different puppet types.
1. Costume Puppet = Tall Ted however he will refrain from blowing his cover that he is a puppet.
2. Glove Puppet = Kattie Koala
3. Mouth Puppet = Little Johnny who's birthday it is.
4. Muppet = Heckler
5. Marionette = Mr Bow Dangles
6. Paper Puppet = Little Johnny Craft.
The show consists of Tall Ted reading two books, introducing Little Johnny as a Glove Puppet and how you put him on like a glove then they find out it's his birthday.
What no balloons well the Heckler "Muppet" works at a balloon factory but he will only give us some if we sing Heads shoulders knee's and toes with him. Luckily he is a Muppet so a child who knows the song can step in as the hands. Then he gives us balloons for the party but you guessed it, we open up a box of helium filled balloons and they float to the roof of the library.
Oh no Tall Ted cant reach them, no problem lets ask the smartest puppet in town Kattie Koala the Glove Puppet. She saves the day with her wisdom and we get the balloons down with her grabber invention.
Then Mr Bow Dangles the Marionette comes on to perform at the party.
We have cake, well Magic Cake and then Finnish with the craft.
On paper this looks like being the best story time yet.
Please advise if you feel I have any of the puppets listed under the wrong puppet type as I still have time to make a change.
You can see the puppet page here www.tallted.com/puppet before I make it public.
Or the official Tall Ted web site location is www.tallted.com
Finally have you ever seen a Bear ventriloquist, he's the best I have seen as his lips never move, even when he is talking.

Looks like a LOT of fun! I really liked your Little Johnny paper puppet idea. Would you give me permission to use that idea to make a paper puppet of one of my puppets? I'd appreciated it greatly!! Thanks for sharing!!
