Some of my puppets where on display a year or so ago but they rotate out their main displays so they are not there right now.  Maybe we can meet up when you drive up.  I am working "Phantom" right now but I don't have to go into the theater till 2:00 each day.  Perhaps we can meet for lunch.  I'll PM my cell to you.

Johan what a great site for books. You can't look long there because you want a lot of books.  I know allready that I'm going to order a few books there.

Looking forward to coming up that way Shawn, now all i have to do is figure out how to get a extra day off work.Oh i bought an antique marionette off ebay today, its a 18 string,25' tall top of head to feet.49' tall over all.mouth opens, eyes close.her hands open and close. made of wood.she's kinda funky looking at the moment but i'm going to refurbish her into a new character.

Hi Steve and Everyone,

I haven't been here for so long, I couldn't remember my login and had to start over.  It's great that so many are so willing to share your thoughts and ideas.

I have just purchased the book, Marionette Construction by Robert Leroy Smith, determined to give his puppet making technique a try.  I found I had to read and reread each section to understand it all.  Keep reading.  You will find some answers as you go that were not evident when you first went thru it.  I was a little disappointed that there was not much detail in the Fish Controller manipulation section.  Perhaps it will be trial and discover as I go

Thanks for the You Tube link to the controller.  It's too bad the camera person couldn't stay focused on the puppet or the manipulation.  You do get a pretty good idea of the overall puppet though.

I will try to post some pictures as my puppet evolves, but I'm not too quick to finish a project without a deadline.
