Sonny's Joe Friday Posted by Sonny on Mar 26, 2009
Hey Gang,
Here's the latest puppet adopted from my studio. It's Dragnet's Joe Friday. I custom made him for a ventriloquist in Canada. His name is Doug Arden.
Joe measured from head to toes about 44 inches. He's made out of foam covered in latex. (I really dig this technique)
The hardest part was trying to find a grey suit coat for his costume...lol
Lemme know what cha think?
Thanks for looking

I like the ears on this one. Foam covered by latex sounds interesting-Steve

This puppet is great! Professional design. You should teach us how to do this kind of puppet (At least to have videos to sale, to learn this technique).
You are a professional puppet maker!

I love the fact that he has a four o'clock shadow. The paint and shading is great. Are you brushing the latex on, or have you found a way to spray in on using your airbrush?

Top job Sonny, he's the goods.
Does he have the ability to blow smoke like he is smoking?
I don't condone smoking but I love the way one of the puppets from the show "Puppets who kill" smokes, it gives such realism to the character.
In a adult toon sort of way.
