The lip synching is very good; just watch out for eyelines. It seems like the puppet is looking 'up', rather than 'at' the camera. Otherwise, I really like it. It's a good looking puppet too!

Its true, the synching is great, but the eyelines has to be fix. Still, was funny! I like that puppet (Good job)

I knew that the audio would be an issue. I did record several takes with the aid of a mic and just the built in mic on my camera. I'll have to figure out something else for next time.

Thanks for the tip about eyelines. Since I used adhesive felt I'll move the pupils down and that should help to correct it for in the future.

I also think you can simply "bend" your wrist a bit more to get the eye line right. Good job!  I like that he is on a solid background. It let's you focus in on the puppet without distractions.

As for the mic - why not get a lapel mic? Then you can attach it to yourself and not have to worry about being too far away for the audio to be picked up clearly.
Re: My First Uploaded Puppet Video Posted by Matt on Mar 28, 2009
That is probably what I'll end up doing. Its been on my list of things to buy for a couple of years. In to video I'm using a mic built in to a pair of ear buds, so I could hear the audio at the same time. I could tell them that it wasn't the best, but it sounds better in the video than what I was hearing while recording.

You do have great lip sync .....can't wait to see the next one.....keep it up.

Do you have the camera hooked up to a TV?.......So you can see how the puppet looks to the camera......this is what you need to do.....so you know if your puppet is looking at the "audience" or into space.....it is almost impossible (but not entirely if you are well rehearsed) at figuring out where your puppet is within the screen area without the TV feedback set up.

I was lucky enough several years ago - hmmm, maybe come to think of it, longer than that
a walkman which came with a lapel mic. It definitely makes things easier when it comes to recording vocal stuff.
