I forgot about these ...... I got mine last week. I ordered two of them. I'm sending one to Cicero in Brazil. He wanted one. I will be sending it back with Andrew in the early Summer. I added this book to my sewing collection.

Most of the book is about soft sculpture, which can be applied to puppet making when building up facial features such as jawlines, cheeks, etc.
The patterns while they are basic shapes it does help you with getting a general idea of how to plan out a pattern for a puppet.
I recommend anyone to study Soft Doll Sculpture....... It will really helps improve your building skills as a puppet builder.

What exactly is soft sculpture? I don't know if I have the same book (I just want to make sure)
Re: Foam shapes library? Posted by Matt on Apr 22, 2009
If you have the same book look at chapter 5. Chapter 5 is how to make basic geometric shapes out of fabric. Chapter 5 to the end of the book is directly related to building 3D shapes out of fabric, which can be then related back to foam.

Soft Sculpture is where you build a doll up from a wire skeletal form by adding poly-fill, batting, and cloth.
Here is a example of soft sculpture

Here are some pictures of Soft sculpture dolls

Verna Finely comes to mind as one who used Soft sculpture when building puppets.
Some of the great Soft Doll Sculptress are Lisa Litchtenfels and Wendy Froud

They all have books and videos available..... I Happy to say I have them all.

Here are some of my favorite puppet from Spectacular Dimensions
