Wow.  Thanks for the suggestions!  I found two of the suggested books at my library and bought a used copy of the book by Anne Dryer at Amazon.

Question: My book has eight chapter (Its really old, from 1978) and the 5th chapter is named geometry form (or something like that). It is the book you talked here?

That's the book I have. The Complete Book of Stuffed Work. On page 110 it has information about pattern draping which actually helped me to achieve a specific head shape out of foam this week. Have you looked at chapter 6? Its all about body shapes. I love this book.

I've been looking mine over for the last week or so. I can just imagine a publisher salivating over the sudden interest in this book . . .

At any rate, I can see where it can be helpful to me. Right now I am having trouble taking my three dimensional imagined shape and taking it down to two dimensions for a pattern. I think this book will help a lot. I am also confident that with experience it will start happening more spontaneously.
