Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering if any of you have ever tried to dye vellox...like the blankets.  I have an old one that I thought about using, but it's awful big to use the same color all of the time.  Do you think Rit dye would work on it?

General rule of thumb is if it is made out of natural materials it will dye with RIT,  but this isn't always a hard and fast rule......I think this type of material is man made and has a nylonish base I think you will have a problem with it......but experiment and see what you come up with.....try a little piece with a small amount of RIT dye and see what happens.....you never know.  Let us know how it goes.

I agree with Daryl.................. While Antron is a synthetic fiber it seems to dye well with rit dye. It really depends on the chemical make up of the fibers in the fabric.
According to PB Burch a leading dye expert this is what they recommend.

Many years ago, I had luck dying the neutral colored Vellux blanket fluorescent green.... But if I remember correctly, it wasn't quite as rich of a color result as dying white Antron.
