Sara, if I understand you correctly, you are a volunteer ministry team yes? I understand perfectly what you mean by accepting whatever it is they offer. But some places do want a set figure. Since you are working most likely working with ministry volunteers, you do not pay them and most of your funds are just used for financing new projects and resources, right?
I know a few professionals who charge between $100-200 per program, which usually last about 45 minutes. But it's usually for a single or two person production. I'd say shoot above this range and, depending on the client, give them a range of what could be expected. It's up to you how you want to approach this but I know how tricky it can be. (:

i was lucky to find a client at a library for 2 shows this month and 2 shows next month equaling to a $200 job altogether. Those kinds of puppet gigs I don't mind asking for off from my day jobs
