I thought the characters look familiar but then I see so much on the net that I thought I might had seen it in my past.  Yes it is a Canadian made show from Toronto.  Daryl H

sorry you are wrong, the show is made by "studio 100" (Belgium) together with the BBC (treehouse) I'm sorry not Canadian. It is sold to 30 countries for a sample Canada. I can give links where I found it but it is in Dutch. Since you have a slide problem to understand it so I won't. So you have too believe me..........

Actually, Daryl is 100% correct.  The show was made here in Toronto as a joint company production, for a company in Europe and for local YTV/Treehouse here in Canada.   It actually aired in Europe before it aired here in Canada.  It was all filmed in (Canadian) English and then dubbed into other languages including British accented English.

I found more information on this show at the TreeHouse TV Page.  There is also a related artical on the puppeteers themselves titled: T.O. puppeteers compared to Jim Henson... I think the T.O stands for Taronto Ontario.... I had thought it meant 2 at first as in "the two of them".
Yep, that Treehouse link is on my Puppet Buzz entry about the show.  Here it is for people wanting to read a little more.  The other link I think is from Puppet Vision.

...and yes, T.O. is an acronym for Toronto, Ontario.

Gompie,

Thanks for sharing the video link...very cure puppets & nice performance though I could not
understand the language.

I think it is possible to make flexible lower jaw using thin foam sheet or leather or even some
canvas cloth. If the lower portion is thin then you can show lower lip folding, or showing
difffernt expression. Worth trying this technique of mouth plate preparation.

Funny about the production company, I'm going to translate the dutch version . It is just a little bit different. I when I read it from treehouse I give them wright but when I read the dutch version I give them wright. I go to church now and in the afternoon (for you morning) I translate it.

I believe you (that the Dutch website said something about "its show") for sure.  One thing I have learned about productions (puppet productions for television specifically), is that there are all of these titles that are used by people/companies that can be confusing.

For example:

"created by" - someone who has an idea and hires another company to bring it to life can claim that the created the show.  However, the final result may be far different from what they had originally "created".

"produced by" - can refer to just about anyone who helped to make the show a reality.  It can be a company supplying money, finding the right people to actually film and make the show, to any number of things in between.

"owned by" - a company can simply purchased a show idea, or buy hte rights to a show that has been completed and claim that it is "their show".  After all if they bought the show, it IS theirs.

I hope that helps.

This serie (bol en smik or big and small) is the first result of corporation between the BBC and the Belgium productionhouse studio 100 (very familiar here makes a lot of good children programs) This serie is allready sold to thirty countries : Germany, Russia , Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, and France.

I don't know many companies who makes films I was never interested in . I know the tree house I think. If I'm am wright they made "Brown bear in the blue house" It doesn't matter to me but I was a little surprised when I discovered that studio 100 made a Muppet serie. The made somethings with puppets, with a dog or puppets the size of a human but not little ones.
