Need your advice please. Posted by nynah on May 02, 2009
Hi,
I'm fairly new to puppet building. I've started a project and I'm lost as to what to do. I printed out the pattern for the Brazil puppet. The body turned out great, but the glue shows. I decided on the head to cover the puppet with fleece because of the glue showing. Now, I'm thinking about starting from scratch again. I cannot get this to look right. Should I do it another way? I did see a tutorial on cutting the fleece and gluing it to the foam. The way it is now, the fleece is 'moving'. I tried the spray adhesive but it was a mess the way I did it. Here is a picture of the way it is now. What I'd like to know is should I start over and not sew the fleece to cover the head, but glue it in place, or can I salvage this?

Look I don't usually pimp my own stuff to much but I have a 5 dollar tutorial on glueing fleece to the head with spray adhesive. Its on the doctor tutorials at my website. The video is fairly detailed and may be able to help you quite a bit.

That's because the man is modest, but the videos are more than worth it.

Well, here he is almost done. I just can't quite get his eyes right, but I'm happy with the rest so far.
Jay, thank you so much for directing me to your tutorial. It was a great help to me, and well worth every penny.

Looks good...................... It does seem the eyes are not quite focused. I would try moving the eyes in just a bit. They seem a bit to far apart....... making them look crossed. Other than that great job !!!!

very nice looking puppet. You should be very proud of the fine job you've done building him.
