I made more eyes for him but the other ones are hot glued on and I'm having trouble getting those off so I can put the other ones on.

Sometimes you can use a hair dryer to "melt" the hot glue enough to remove something.

That really is a nice pattern...I'd like to experiment with doing similar mouth for some upcoming puppets.

How did you put the pupils on the eye? if you can just remove the pupil, and IF you are using styrofoam craft balls for eyes a good way to get the pupils right is to pin them on, moving them about till they are right. then pull the pin out A BIT, NOT ALL THE WAY, if using self adhesive felt dots, remove the backing (you'll have to tear it around the pin) for self adhesive. then press the pupil down the pin shaft. (measure twice/thrice then cut/glue)
Or if you want to glue you can apply glue with a cotton bud/tip. I do this on fabric covered eyes, DON'T PUT CONTACT  ADHESIVE ON STYROFOAM! It will just melt. Also make sure glue is sparing so it doesn't seep through fabric. Sparse glue also helps make sure it isn't visible.
Better still sew it on so you can remove it if you have to. That goes for the eyeballs them selves as well.

Sorry if this is advice after the fact, perhaps for your next puppet. I arrived at some of the above after VERY similar experiences with my first puppet using new methods (muppet style)
The puppet looks really great. very impressive, not JUST for a first attempt at the pattern. considering you set your self high standards and are chasing better methods I can't wait to see your future puppets.

I agree, I speak with Nice and Cicero from Brazil often. Cicero is a graphic designer and has designed several patterns. I did ask him about this particular pattern and he said it was a very common pattern in Brazil. I believe he did change some parts of the pattern to suit projects they do in the work shop.
Cicero and Nice have a new product line which consist of patterns and complete puppet kits. It is great that they have shared these patterns with us. Thank you Andrew for making the download easier for everyone to access.
