Well it went off really well I will show the pictures tomorrow night.....I am to tired to do it and I still have to take some pics of my puppet....It was a fun time and thank you to all who came out.....Nlace won :'(....just kidding he earned it...congrats to him.
We learnt somethings this time to improve on next time.....one for sure is to make sure we all have the same looking materials.....I noticed that a hair band has different meanings to different people..
We are planning one for next month and we hope that we will have more participating this time we are thinking materials from the kitchen only this time. We will be making up a list that are easy to find in the kitchen to keeps cost low and for others to participate.

I would like to mention for those of you that were unable to join Daryl and the other contestants NLace and Vampire Wombat. You missed a very entertaining evening of mere puppet pleasure. Each contender had exactly one hour to complete a start to finish puppet using items one might find in the bathroom. I tell you as each one organized there materials Shawn counted down the start time 10,9,8......... Go.
All three worked steadily and as fast as they could carefully gathering and gluing supplies together. I tell you it was like watching the Kentucky Derby. As time steadily ticked on each one raced as the finish line approached. As the anticipation grew each contestant hurried to finish there puppet on time. STOP times up announces Shawn and the game was over.
I tell you folks it was something to see. Each person had there on unique style of building a puppet and it was more exciting to see them side by side going at it. Vampire Wombat sat patiently in the background working on his design.
Now it was judgment day and as the each of the judges deliberated Daryl had generated a poll before the broadcast. It went wild as each one watching started to cast his or her poll vote. NLace and Daryl were neck and neck, then NLace slowly took the lead as Daryl and Vampire Wombat followed behind him. After all the poll votes were in the judges announced the Winner " NLace "
Might I add that each person competing showed great sportsmanship and how much fun it can be. Not to mention a bunch of great talent. Interesting enough...................... if you watched each one carefully there was much to learn from the way they used the glue gun to the way they looked eagerly at there project as the time ticked and each was under pressure.
A big Thank You to all that participated. NLace and Daryl for coming up with the idea and following it thru and Vampire Wombat for challenging those two to the finish. If next months challenge is as fun as this one was................... we are in for some great entertainment.
So if any of you missed it this time I would suggest you mark your calendars and show up for the next one. Who knows I may make it more interesting and throw in some prizes.
Thanks again guys

I don't know, I think that kind of makes it interesting.
It really was great fun. I just wish we could have watched all the contestants work. It was much like the build alongs we have had in the past, only live and with a time limit! Due to the length of the contest it was not recorded which is a shame but perhaps next time something can be worked out in that regard.

Actually, I do kind of agree with Shawn on the interpretation of the term hair band making it more interesting. If we had all 3 used the exact same items, then we would have had less variation.
Now to lick my wounds and wait for the next battle.
Well, not really lick them. And it's actually only one blister from the hot glue gun. But still. Look! A three headed monkey!

You did a great job ! I just wished we could have seen your building process... and of course that burn ! Ouch!

Maybe next time we can use stickam after all. Maybe have some designated times before hand to help people sign up and learn anything they may need to.
The blister isn't actually that bad. Just a hazard of using a cheap hot glue gun. I normally don't keep it plugged in that long.

I am wondering what you guys will be doing with your puppets? Will you give them as gifts? keep them? Continue to work on them? I know I would love have Daryl's one, signed...of course :D
OHMYPUPPET, where did that monkey go this time? And how did he leave Monkey Island? I do wonder :D
Great job guys, it was awesome watching you all (or reading the progress at least). It was an honor to be a judge.
I will try to participate next time, but having the list of supplies available in advance will permit me to go to the dollar store quickly if need be. Maybe a few days in advance would be good.

I will probably just throw mine in a box and it will be forgotten.
I think LeChuck may be scheming to use the three headed monkey somehow.

Hey everyone......thanks for the feedback I am glad that lace (it is the nickname I gave him) was truly the idea person behind the idea....I really just rounded people up.....I had a great time and enjoyed the challenge myself.....well here are the puppets made and they all turned out very unique as you will see.....
Vampire Wombat is first up he got inspired by a puppet on Jim Henson's storytelling show......
The next two are Lace's he got some inspiration from a puppet that I am making during my live shows.....
Well this one was made by myself my inspiration was on a comment from a friend live before the show (the notorious) saying that he thought my lufa looked like a drag queens wig....so here she is DRAGon Queen.....
Well there they are and Lace did win by the judges due to having arms completed with a rod....congrats to him.....once again thanks to the judges (Should, The Notorious, and Billy) and timer keeper (Billy) count down person (Shawn) as well as all the people who came and cheered on.
I am planning another one and will figure out a better venue for everyone to be on and see the process....I hope Vampire Wombat heals soon because I am ready bring on the materials.
