How do I add a video to my post Posted by jomama on May 22, 2009
I am uploading a video to Youtube and can't remember how to put it into my post. Can anyone write out the directions for me so I can save them? This way I won't have to keep asking how to do it, I will be able to look it up in my notes.

I finally had a few minutes free to begin editing our Easter program. We did a blacklight song, "Fishers of Men", a parody of "It's Raining Men". As soon as it is up on Youtube, I'd like to post it here. I'm also working on getting good photos of the fish I designed for the song.

Thanks for the help. I seem to have a brain f*rt every time I try to add a video. Must be the glue.

before you post your thread there is a little icon on top of the message box with the youtube icon on it.   Click it.  Then you want to open a new tab or window go to youtube and copy the embedded code from the page the video is on!  then come back to your thread and in the message box in between the youtube brackets paste the embedded code...once you post your thread the video will appear!

Hope that helps
Sincerely,

Yeah!!! I got the video added. We did this song as part of our Easter program. For many of the puppeteers this program was the first they had ever done.
Now I just need to get photos of my fish. The fish are a design I came up with for the program. I even took the time to make a pattern as I went.
Because we lost three puppeteers two weeks before the performance, I had to take over many of their parts, so I couldn't do much puppetry, BUT in this song, I am the 6th fish that comes in after the song starts. I just wanted to do a puppet and took the opportunity. It was fun!!

Ouch, 3 puppeteers lost only two weeks before the D-Day, that can't be good. Well you did a great job all. Thank you for sharing!

Pretty cool!  How was the coral reef done?  At one point I thought maybe it was some how attached to the puppeteers.

That was some cool wallpaper I got from Puppet Lady. I cut up the paper and rearranged it onto black foam core. Attached wire to hang over the front of the stage and Shazam! Coral reef. It would have been cool to attach it to the puppeteers like the old signboards but we had just 5 seconds to set up for the song.

Nice work....I like the mermaid and the way she was performed......I wish you could have gotten a close up angle....but it did turn out very well......I could imagine the stress when three dropped out at the last minute....but the show must go on.

You know how it is when working with "People" they change plans at the last minute.

I would have liked to have close ups, but my daughter was filming and didn't know the camera well, so no close ups. The mermaid was performed by my son, and I agree he did a great job. I should take photos of her. The funny thing is, she is a puppet I had made several years ago. She has legs, so I just made a "Costume" for her to wear. We pinned her right arm to her body, put an arm rod on her left arm and a permanent rod in the bottom of her tail. The puppeteer could hold both rods with one hand and get some interesting movement.
