Blinking eyes Posted by trekkiemonster on Jun 13, 2009
Hey guys! I'm planning on making a puppet that has blinkable sunshades for eyes, similar to Floyd Pepper and Mahna-Mahna.
I was intending to do it on my first puppet but decided in the end to skip it to simplify things. Now, I'm not totally sure how to make such eyes but I believe that you somehow make the eyes out of felt and make hollow "pipes" out of those and once they're done you either sew or glue those to holes on the puppet where those eyes are going to be.
What do you think how I shall make those kinds of eyes? Would appreciate if you guys could show some pictures on how to make them.

Dr. Puppet makes a great tutorial for $5.00 to download and it shows you a professional style of blinking including a cable idea.  Keep that in mind.

Once you enter the site you go to the bottom right hand and you will see a little button that says video.

Hope this helps as well.

The video is great but does leave a few questions to be answered.  But you can't ask for a better first step in learning how to make them.  FOr five bucks you can't go wrong.
