Interview Posted by jomama on Jun 22, 2009
Hey everyone, I just finished an interview with a local TV station. Unfortunately it was not about puppets and puppetry, but it was about art. I teach drawing with a program called Young Rembrandt's and the Grosse Pointe War Memorial wanted to interview me to help promote classes they offer at their facility. It was a 7 minute interview and we did it all in one take. Not bad. The interviewer did a great job especially for not knowing anything about the YR program. We talked for about 10 minutes ahead of time and I gave her a couple of questions I felt she should concentrate on and then we did the interview. I didn't have anything prepare ahead of time to say, I do much better with more of an ad lib type situation and they were pleased with what we did.

I'm sure my experience with performing puppetry and MC duties helped me to be at ease in the studio. Although it isn't the first interview I've done for either print or TV, it is the first in a studio. Three cameras, mics, sets, etc. can be a little intimidating. But it is done and now I just wait for them to call me when the DVD is finished so I can pick up my copy.

I'll be famous.

Autographs anyone? Anyone...

How cool!  You know at some point in your fame you'll be saying "Can't someone else do the interview?".
