I am a puppeteer from Florida who operates marionettes and hand puppets as entertainment and as a hobby.
I would like, however, to involve myself in the construction of such puppets, namely the marionette. I've been
looking through this site (and, frankly, many others) for quite a while and I can not seem to get a clear resource
on how to get into marionette construction. If anyone knows of any free literature or any compiled resource
pertaining to marionette construction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff........ I'm not the resident marionette specialist that would be Shawn our Administrator here at the P&S forum. You can look at our Amazon book section of the forum where there a list of excellent books............. write down the ones of interest and see if your local library has them or can borrow a copy from another Library.

It might help if you explain more about what you want to learn. Do you want to sculpt your own, or use a kit like I listed above. I find marionettes intimidating................ Have you checked your local library yet?  If not see what books they have on Puppetry.  Most libraries have a system of sharing books among themselves now and you might have to see if there are books at other libraries that can be sent to yours.
