Wow, Miguel, thank you! I really appreciate your help with this. I appreciate what everyone has done for me!. I'm slowly starting to understand how all of this works. ^_^

Miguel,

The roundness of the head is tied up in the dart at the top of the head. The BoxGhost original pattern is pretty close on that one I think but might need to be tweaked some.

Lol. BoxGhost original. I'm sorry, that sounded really funny to me. :P

Guys, I'm sorry, but I have another question. I have today off of work, and I was going to get some proper eyes for this puppet. With the calculations I've done, it seems I'd need 2.5" (65mm) eyes.

Someone suggested fishing bobbers, and i've been surfing the web for them, and I absolutely cannot find anything. Ping Pong balls would be too small, as would golf balls. I'd prefer not to use styrofoam because it's not smooth enough. I'm going to keep looking, but if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know! Thanks! ^_^

Ok, I think I finished the pattern, but I'm not going to able to upload it or post it until the 5 of august. Because I'm going to be away from tomorrow (I'm traveling. And be back on Saturday the first). Can't post anything because I'm at work, and have to do a lot stuff for the traveling. But as soon as I get here back, I will post it.

Thanks

Miguel

If you can't find the bobbers then you can use styrofoam balls and cover them in a layer or two of papermache'.  Have a look at this video over at Puppets Live over at BlogTV: http://www.blogtv.com/Shows/736892/buZEY2NGaeXtZuNFbX&pos=ancr  It shows how you can cover styrofoam with papermache'. Then you paint Gesso on it sand to get a smooth surface to paint. http://www.blogtv.com/Shows/736892/buZEY2NGaeXuZeNxZH&pos=ancr  Both of those videos have to do with makeing a marionette but you can adapt for your needs. If you can't find Gesso in your area then you can use a couple more layers of papermache' and sand it.  Then use a paint primer (that is what Gesso is but sandable) and then paint your eyes!

the paper mache thing... Now, THAT is a good idea.

And August 5th, eh, Miguel? I'll look forward to it! Thanks for your effort and your help! Can't wait to see what you've come up with. I guess I'll start another small project while I'm waiting. ^_^

Just as an update, a friend of mine in england wanted a red fraggle, so I'm attempting that at the moment.  I figured it would be a good way to learn how to work with foam skulls... and that it would be good practice for when I finally do wembley! I'll take some pictures when I get a bit farther.

Here is my take.  I can't say if it's working or not.  Give it a try.
