Well, I'm going to attempt a prototype for the head this weekend I think. We'll see how it goes. The actual wembley fraggle doesn't have foam where the nose is, and instead a ball is inserted to maintain the shape. I don't know how I'm going to handle this yet. And yes, I do plan to cover the foam with fleece.
Also, I guess I should ask this now. Where is a good place to get the round sort of eyes that fraggles have? I don't really know what size I'll be needing yet. I figure I should start looking, though.

Do you think ping pong balls would be large enough? That was my first thought, but then I was unsure that they'd be the right size. Also, what would be the best way to attach the eyes to the head?

Usually I do it with hot glue gun (But you have to be carefull don't put the gun to close to the ping pong ball and wait few seconds before to put it to the fabric and press it down). Or you can use contact cement too.

I cut away a small portion of the back of the ping pong ball making it have a flat surface. I then sand the edges smooth. At this point ping pong balls are quite fragile so I fill the inside of the ping pong ball with foam. Then glue to a doll joint with hot glue being careful not to melt the ping pong ball. I then lightly sand the outside of the ping pong to prepare it for painting. I place the post of the newly made eye in a old drill and tighten it to hold it steady. Turn the drill on and spray paint the eye with a can of white spray paint. Or you can use a air brush gun. Make sure you get a even coat. When dry attach to your puppet using the fastener that came with the doll joint.

Doll joint? Can you purchase something like that at Joann Fabric? I think I know exactly what a doll joint is, but I didn't know if it was something I could just pick up at a craft store. It's one of those things that looks sorta like a plastic screw, right?

Mr. Fuller. This is a great idea. I will put it in my list of ideas for puppets!
