Making a fresh start with a new project! Posted by Foam Shui on Jul 10, 2009
Hi all!  I suppose technically I've already introduced myself, but for one reason or the other, I didn't really make the time to get to know you all.  I would love to change that!!!  So here's a little intro/update about me:

I have been reading these forums for about a year now, and back then I would occasionally post updates on some theatre projects I had worked on for my local community theatre.  Because I was so involved with the group, I was fortunate to have been hired on full time in the box office at the theatre, and I've been happily working my tush to the bone these days!  Sadly, though, that hasn't given me a lot of time to volunteer to make my puppety props lately, so I've had a lot of time to brainstorm my own project.  I'm still in the early early stages, but that's one of the biggest reasons I've returned to these forums.  There are SOOOO many talented, resourceful people here that I would be crazy not to try and absorb as much knowledge and advice as I can!!!  Thanks for all your help in advance, and I hope in some way, I can return the favor!

Wow your hooked arnt you... Don't worry I've been involved with puppetry for over eight years and they still fascinate me. You ask for help in learning... I say innovate, and extrapolate. Or as Henson is quoted as saying "Take what you got and fly with it"
For the mechanical side look on You tube for Emily Decola. A master in her field. Also look up Footlice Theatre Company Australia for some mechanisms we've come up with. I would welcome your feedback.

Till then Fight the good fight and bring them to life

All the Best
