WOW! THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!!

I've been working on the Full Body Girl and she is coming along nicely. I've modified the "skeleton" from the original that is posted in my gallery. I'm also designing her to come apart at her waist, this will make it easier to pack in a smaller storage bin. I have the foam body done, the fabric skin for the head, neck and body sewn together and the hands sewn. Still have to assemble the legs and feet and cover them. Assemble the poseable hands and insert into the fabric. All this before I can begin to put features on her.

Needless to say, there are many, many hours in building this particular puppet. I am also making patterns of each part, as well as making any changes to the pattern that I make in the actual construction of the puppet.

Script is nearly finished and next week we will record and mix. I found out that it may not be possible to use the video portions for our performance as the screen may be in our performance space. So, I'm working out how we can do the video portion live, with just the four of us.

I'll keep you all updated and post pictures of the new girl as soon as she is complete.

Thought I'd give you an update on the progress of the show. We will have to do the old puppet segments live because the video screen comes down in the front of the stage area and may block the live performance area. Just talked with my daughter about how to do the skit parts and we have worked something out.

I've finished the script and just have to get my people together to record it. I'll be doing this in the next couple of days.

Not having to do the video has freed up a lot of time, but I now need to make a backdrop for the skit. It will be the couple's bedroom showing the packing process. I'll have a simple black curtain to lower over the backdrop when the songs are being performed. I really wanted to do the video portion, but this time it won't work. We'll video it for future performances of this show.

Now I'm off to work on my girl.

Great work on all your puppets and can't wait to see some video of the end result.....sounds like a big project but you are handling all the details very nicely.  Best of luck with the rest.

Just got an email today from the event organizer saying that that through a misunderstanding another group has been scheduled for the performance spot that we were also scheduled for. This other group is already printed on the schedule etc. So we will not be doing the August 8 performance after all. Bummer!!!  Oh well, can't change it, I'll just continue the build and have the show in reserve for another performance. I'll still film the pieces and put together a video, it just may take a little longer.

I am in the process of adding hair to my Full body girl and then features. Once that is done and I pick up some clothes for her I'll post pictures.

@Sue Oh it's too bad there was a mix-up with your performance! But at least you have a fantastic program, great new puppets, and TIME to really work through it and finally present it for another performance. [Plus, I'm sure you'll have another opportunity soon!]

Hey all, I wanted to update you on the progress of the young Rhoda puppet. She is basically finished, just needs shoes and final hairstyle. I was only able to get one photo of her before my camera battery died.

I'll post more photos of her showing the full body and possibly a short video of how she works. Does she look like a young version of Rhoda?
