Good info. Maybe I can get some old teddy bears or something from Goodwill.

I am making 2 puppets for the first time. I almost finshed. For the hair I used pieces of cuddly animals I bought in a second hand shop.

Is that wrong?
Nope it works. If you do the same thing with your fleece that you are doing and pin it as you go (no glue) you can see where the seams will be needed. You can mark where you want to sew and then take the fleece off. Sew the fleece where you marked on the machine. Since you are making an original puppet you will have to make it this hard way to make your coverings.
Way down on reply six on this thread there are some pictures of making a custom covering pattern. They are using tape here. Usind the fabric and pinning works fine too. It's more simplistic than what you have got, but basically the same idea.
Oh, yeah. The best and easiest place for darts (or seams) is where they exist on your puppet.

I guess I was trying to go the easy rout on that one. Maybe this will be a test puppet. I am working on a better design of my own for the blinking eyes. Maybe I will put it in the final one. Who knew making a puppet from scratch this big would be so hard..LOL.
