Presenting Matilda Posted by Sandra on Aug 20, 2009
Hello all,
As some of you may remember, not long ago I posted a message saying that I was finally back into making puppets after a year and a half of not being able to. Well now, it is done. I am presenting to you all Matilda. She will be a gift for a friend who is expecting. She was a first for me in many ways. A first using an official pattern (glorified sock puppet pattern), a first to dye and use fleece. A first where I actually think of putting a lining inside my puppet for easyer use of the puppeteer. Once again, I have learned alot making this puppet. Mainly that if you have small hands, it is perfect, but if your hands are larger the pattern needs to be a little larger as well. Also I learned the practical use of stretchy aspect of fleece, or more specifically not to forget to take it into account next time. And much more.
I had a ball making Matilda and hopefully it's owner will come claim her soon. She is also my first commission work that I will be actually paid for. When I will have that money, I plan on using the money to buy a DVD from Jay. So expect an order from me soon Jay :D
I did try to add my picture here, she is in my gallery pictures here: http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/index.php?action=gallery&g2_itemId=9220 I will let the pro's here imbed the picture if they see it necessary.
Questions, comments, suggestions, anything is welcome.
