Good job! How you made the mouthplate?; What pattern you used for body?
Re: My brand spanking new project! Posted by Bhanu on Sep 05, 2009
The shape looks good...I guess once you drape the fleece
it will have some character...try draping with some waste
cloth/fabric then use the same as a template then cut the final
fleece. You can also leave the head without covering.

Good luck...waiting to see the pic of finished puppet.

Cheers

May I have a copy of your head pattern? I would love to use it for some of my own projects, as well as your body patterns as well. I never have enough of them.

Wow some nice work so far.....I would use the draping method mentioned by Shawn and others....I think it would be your best bet....can't wait to see further pictures of your progress.

Thanks for sharing and telling us both your successes and failures.......

Daryl... wasn't it the cute/funny video about draping that Shawn is talking about, the guy didn't measure a thing. He just stuck it on and cut as he went. Amazing.

im sorry i dindnt say this from the start but i always gave draping a try and it was too hard for me to make the seams and darts clean and even enough for mje to want to stitch it on, now i love darkranth's work but i just dont have his gift for.........draping. ALSO where do you guys go to get wigs that fit big heads? my puppets head is 25" around at the most and i know that most wigs only fit up to 20"

Get cheap material and try draping again....it is not a talent it is practice and pateince.  it is the better of methods.  I think you need to try it again get an old t-shirt or such material buy some old t-hsirts from a used store they will all work just fine.  Then follow his video and then let us know if you get stuck as we will work with you.  I think it is a very imporatant method to know and use when covering puppets.
