String a Puppet Posted by Billy D. Fuller on Sep 01, 2009
I will be embarking on a new journey of trying my luck at marionettes. I thought this was interesting.

Very interesting link, thanks Billy, but i do not agree with "The main strings are two strings on the head at the temple (above the ears) which hold the whole puppet."

For me, the strings which hold the whole puppet are those from shoulders. If the weight of the marionette is hanging from the head, wont be able to move freely, and the marionette will not say "no" or "yes"

Hey Billy, I'm sure you will do a great job on this new project just as you have on your other projects. Of course you'll keep us posted.

I second Jorge's comment about the weight of the puppet being on the shoulders and not the head.  I always support the puppet from the shoulders.

Would be cool to see Mr. Fuller's work in this part of puppetry

This is the web page from a workshop that I took!  The stringing instructions are for Czech crosses, so it's not practical for the weight to rest on the shoulder strings.  The puppets still say yes and no, but I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of this style of controller.

Of course we are going along, if you want  us of course. I may be held a bit back because of my few portrait comission work that I am doing. But I am not far back. :D
