Realistic Stubble Posted by gav on Sep 05, 2009
I have a puppet i'm working on that needs realistic looking stubble.  It has a grey black pattern I need to follow.  Problem is nothing i've done looks right.  Does anyone have any ideas.

I don't thing you would need much to use on Antron. This video shows using it on paper. I know it is used on latex puppets as well. I would try a sample piece.

I have another thought but I must try it on a piece of scrap antron and see if it works will get back with you.

It was the only picture I could find at the moment. I'm glad you found it amusing. Those are G I Joe action figures.

I don't think you would have success with flocking and antron fleece....Your best bet would be using ritucualted with large holes and some black paint or makeup and dap it on in the areas that you want.  That would be your best bet.

Hope this helps......

Hmmm.... I wonder if you could use fake fur and cut it really short?  Depending on what color the back fabric of the fake fur was it might work. Daryl's suggestion is most likely going to give you the best results though.  It is the same concept that is used in theater makeup and normally looks really good on stage.
