You are right that Sinterclaas is still missing his mijter - I have not made that yet. I know how it has to be made but just have not gotten it done yet. I wanted to do it right. You are the first person to notice that! My son and I have also had some discussions on the best way to attach it to his head, not knowing whether we want it to be removable or permanent!
And yes, Jan Klaassen has wooden shoes.

it is so fnny here in Holland we're making Jan KLaassen en katrijn (the man and women) up to date to 2009 and there they are still back in 1880 or so.
