Quasta for Yay Now children's video Posted by puppetlady on Sep 21, 2009
Here is the puppet I recently built for Jeff Brown of Yay Now for his new children's video.  This is Quasta, a six year old genius alien boy who takes the puppeteer captive on his adventures.  The arm you see on the left is fake.  It's made from a Halloween prop.  The client gave me drawings to work from and from these I made the hoverchair, puppet and fake arm.

That is SO cool! I'm curious, how much do the chair and puppet weigh?

Great work!  It is nice to see how your building is coming along so well.

Chris, that is a good question.  I never did weigh it.  Keeping it as light as possible was a concern of mine.  The chair is plastic and foam.  I suspect it was under 5 pounds,  maybe 3 pounds.  It is difficult to work for any long length of time.  I'm hoping my client is still happy AFTER the filming is done.  He'll be one tired guy if he films hours at a time.

Hi Puppetlady,

Love the puppet and the design of how it works. Can we see a photo from the side?
