Here are some side views of the puppet before it was fully finished i.e. no feet.quasta other sidequasta side
The hoverchair base was a plastic babydoll seat.  Side rockets made from toy plastic drums and some foam pieces make up the remainder of the hoverchair shape.  I visited a variety of thrift stores to hunt down the appropriate shapes.  The goggles on Quasta are handmade using inspiration from various web designs for "steampunk goggles".  My client really liked these and ordered three more pairs for himself and his boys.

Thanks.  I'm glad that project is done.  It was a hard one!  I'm ready to do some fun garment sewing now for a change in pace.  My daughter could use some new skirts for Fall/Winter to match what shirts she already has.  That will be easy work in comparison.

It seems to me that the reason the project is so impressive is that it obviously was challenging, and you met the challenge magnificently. It really is a cool puppet, both in conception and in execution. Again, congratulations on a great job.

How did you make the main plastic part of the chair or did you find a shape that worked?

I found a shape that worked for the main portion of the chair.  It was a doll seat I purchased at a local thrift store.
