Balloon Marionettes Posted by ClippoPuppet on Sep 22, 2009
I promised that I would post some pictures of balloon marionettes from the children's workshop I did several years back. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from that workshop but I had some supplies on hand so I made a quick marionette (and by quick, I mean really down and dirty quick!).

Balloon Marionette

I did a blog post on my blog about how to create them, as well as describing the workshop in some detail if you'd like more.

It can be found at http://www.storyquestpuppets.com/wordpress/139/puppet-workshop-balloon-marionettes.

Have fun!

It's also a great way to help kids understand what marionettes are, since they're likely much more familiar with Muppet-style puppets today due to their popularity on TV. If you were teaching puppet types or puppet history, this would be a pretty good exercise to demonstrate marionettes.
