Just Finished an Unusual Puppet Posted by DrPuppet on Sep 25, 2009
I just finished this for a client in texas doing a kids show. The premise was to make robot arms that were soft foam. Originally he wanted antron fleece for all but I explained we can't get good metalic color with Antron. Anyway we settled on a simple design and this is how I made it. Its basicaly a glorified sock puppet with metalic material sewn into liner foam. i did several concepts before deciding on this one and although its super simple and basic It was a chalange to make. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Very interesting Jay..... How will it be filmed ? Is some or part of the puppet reflective.

Yes the silver and gold is somewhat reflective. Shot against black is all I know. He gave me the drawing and said he wanted it to be a soft puppet. So a soft robot was a challange to make. I tell you if he was not so pressed for time I would have loved to make a big mechanical arm out of plastic.
