Hey everpeople im doing a speech on the history and importance of puppetry for my class and its due VERY soon. I was hoping that someone could show me the the best websites for detailed info on puppetry from its origins to today. im not having much luck in gathering enough articles to make a 6 minute speech so can anyone tell me where to look?

Billy I was soooooo hoping to bring a puppet in to give the speech but my professor said it would "ruin" it in his own words. It would turn into a show and take away from the presentation, i think that it would be the perfect way to engage the audience but im not gonna disagree with my teacher. Thanks for taking all that time to give me material. youre the best :]

For many people puppets are not a serious medium for communication. This is probably behind the thoughts of your teacher. I while I personally thinks it's good to challenge that stereotype it's probably not a good idea to do so in a class you'll get a grade for. Best wishes on you report.

I know how you feel about peoples perception, if only they believed in it the way people did in recent cenuries. Im not gonna risk my grade but it would have been fun. Its amazing how fast computer animation has made us change our minds about other means of creating life. Puppetry should be given another chance. Dark Crystal 2 anyone?!!

So i pulled some strings and my teacher said i could show my puppet to the class but use it only after the speech is finished! yay!
