"sili twists" Posted by AvenueQrazy on Sep 28, 2009
I found these in the fresh fruit section at publix! I think the would be great for fingers, tails, ears, or something new original like bendy eyebrows. They are made of silicone and weigh next to nothing. they are also very flexible but at the same time resistant to being ripped or beaten apart.....I tried :T and they can actually do for the things that little picture shows. I think its quite a find

These are very cool, i found some a couple of years ago and used them for all sorts of puppet fun, i think i started off with a little alien and used them as cool little antenna, then i think i bound a few together to create some wire poseable fingers!! but i used up all my supply of them and went hunting for similar things and i came across almost the exact same thing in a gardening supply shop, they where slightly thicker wire (better in my opinion) and still covered in that cool silicon rubber, they are meant for the very same reason as gardening wire, but have that weatherproof rubber, so if you cannot find the 'sili twists' then this is the exact same stuff, just sold for gardening!!

I wonder if a "home" version of these could be made using tool dip? They would be a lot skinnier but that may be a good thing for some applications.
