Picture Puppet Posted by jomama on Oct 02, 2009
Thought you might like to see the puppet I just finished. It is meant to either hang up or sit on an easel. Because of the glare I had to take off the plexi covering and frame in order to photograph. Sorry about the poor quality, but I had to use my web cam. I also did a quick video of how he works. Enjoy.

What did you make him out of?  Is it paper? Felt? Fleece or something else?
Also, did you have to use 3 layers to make the front/mouth and a backing?

Sorry lots of questions!

I love how he looks.

He is made out of corrugated plastic, painted in acrylic paints. The mouth is a second layer behind the first. I will be offering a variety of these puppets in a couple of sizes. They will have a nice picture frame around them and the mechanics will be hidden inside. This is a prototype that I came up with as I needed a special character for a skit I wrote. I have several different faces of boys and girls that I will have available. I may even offer caricatures from client photos, but I'm not sure about that quite yet.

LJ- He is very fun to operate. Simple and both the kids and adults LOVED him.
