I can honestly say, i haven't got the faintest idea of what you are talking about!! lol!! well, i kinda get the gist of it, but I'm not totally with you!! i think ill try to draw a diagram of the sort of mechanism ill be using with my rod puppet, it was an arrangement of little triggers that i came up with to control a little alien rod puppet that flew a tiny spacecraft to the centre of the stage, then in a puff of smoke, it would change into a larger hand puppet version to start the show!! my mech allowed the head to tilt in practically any direction (like the joystick button on a wee nunchuck), then there was a small trigger that could make the puppet look up (like a gun trigger), then of course the mouth mech and last but not least, there was a small thumb cup (that also housed the mouth mech trigger) that made the puppets head turn. it was a fun puppet to operate and gave the puppet alot of personality!! its sounds complicated but certainly was not and i totally forgot about it until i read this thread on this great mouse rod puppet!!

Could you Please start a separate thread on "Rod Puppet Control Devices" so we can follow it closely.

Great idea to start a Rod Mech thread!  I'll sketch what I did with the mouse's mouth mech--it was the first time I'd ever used a spring (I usually use elastic)..

Thank you all for your kind comments--I'm very encouraged ...I'm so glad I took the jump and shared a couple of my projects.  I tend to work in a vacuum with very little outside input and I'm very glad that's changing for me
