I practice in the car all the time - don't tell the cops but I hold a mirror on the top of my steering wheel so I can glance at my lips occasionally.  I read signs, or sing along with the radio, or just practice my currect show while I am driving down the road.  I take along the CD of all the songs I am using so I can keep the show progressing in my car just like I will be at a performance.  In my studio I have two full length mirrors that I have propped up so I can watch myself as I practice in my studio. These seem to work well for me.  I also have a preschool classroom that I practice new shows on. The let me come in and try out my new shows and I find it helps me to have a good practice audience so I know what will work with the children and what will not.  The teachers also know to give me their opinions of what was best - Often I will change things between the two classes and then the teachers give me feed-back on which version of the show they liked best. These are the things I have found to work for me!  HAVE FUN!!

I'm not ventriloquist but I do talk to myself a lot. Does that count.

I just had a great idea!
Take any small journal from the dollar store or whatever and keep track of the days you practiced, for how long, etc.
I myself have school, and therefore homework and sometimes I forget to practice, but I think the 'Ventrilo-Journal' will help alot!
