Second puppet Posted by BrutalSlakt on Oct 06, 2009
Hi everyone! I just wanted to share with you my second puppet. He isn't finished yet but I wanted to show him off anyway.
The pictures were to big to upload in my album so here's the links:

He wasn't suppose to have a flat head, I made him without a pattern and experimented. ^^
The shirt is temporary, I'm going to make him some better fitting shirts.

He's going to have blue yarnhair, takes forever to do though.

His little body without clothes.
His name is Timmy and he's a boy around 5 years old. I'm still working on my children show-filmproject, but I've replaced the little blue boy with Timmy. Timmy is going to be in a segment which will be called "Timmy and grandpa". So when I'm finished with Timmy I'll be starting on grandpa.

So far so good!

You've made a great start. The easiest way to do the hair is to wind the yarn around some stiff card board so that it is in a single layer and then tape it together with some cloth tape. Carefully remove the yarn from the cardboard and then sew down the fabric tape with your sewing machine between the tape and the sewing the yarn stays together. You can then hot glue this yarn hair to the head of your puppet.
when selecting the cardboard make sure that its big enough to give you plenty of length to the hair. once its attached you can then trim it so that it looks the way you want it to.

Jon, do you know any pictures or video of the method you're talking about? I'm trying to picture it in my head but I'm not seeing it.

Nice Job.........Perhaps this may help for future use. This is a tutorial I did on making a hair loom.

This is basically what Jon is talking about but this person is wrapping it around a table and then Looks like the use a macrame knot. This gives you a basic idea though. If she had wrapped it around the table then tapped it down the middle or at one end or another of the table. Then cut the opposite end it would be ready to sew. There are numerous ways to make hairstyles including wefting.
