Wow!  That's great!  I always think that a full-bodied puppet has to be used in blacklight...it's very refreshing to see it used in regular light as well.    Great job!

Did you also voice the puppet in production?

Thanks Shawn!  I did voice Rumpy!  Our director actually had the brilliant idea that in some parts, on specific lines, the second puppeteer would speak in unison with me to provide a magical effect.

Do you have any video that you could post. Even if it's not the entire production it would be great to see you and Rumpy in action.

Well, our university's media department head, whose job it is to do archival films of each production, "made a mistake" and didn't film Rumpelstiltskin... I can't even talk about it... However, I am extremely grateful that our costume shop manager grabbed some video clips during our dress rehearsal!  I've uploaded them to Youtube and they can be found here:

The tech crew set this scene wrong and the prop malfunctioned.... so the puppet had to improv it!

Great job! The two of you must have worked long hours on just the walk itself.  The improvisation on the kettle was suburb!

That was just fabulous! I loved the little dance as Rumpy reveals his name. What a great job. You should be quite proud.

I have used a bunraku puppet only briefly...and what work it is, just to walk together!  Simply awesome job!
