New to the scene, working on Northern Canada production Posted by belowthetreeline on Nov 03, 2009
Hi all,
My name is Dez Loreen, I'm a 26 year-old Inuvialuit male, father of a one-year-old girl.
For her birthday, her mom ordered a few puppets, called Puppettos. We have three, that I am looking to use in a web-based feature that will be made weekly.
I live in Inuvik Northwest Territories Canada, born and raised.
If anyone has any tips for making a 'show' with hand puppets, please pass them on. Right now, I have a team of two and little to no budget.
For a look at what I'm doing, here is the first teaser for the show.
Please comment

So you have hijacked your little girls puppets and are going to make an adult puppet show for on-line!!?? Shame on you! Just kidding. It just struck me that the puppets where purchased for the child but daddy is playing with them.
Welcome to Puppets and Stuff. We have several members who are Canadian. Not sure if they are as far north as you are though. I think most are in like BC, ON and QC. Geography was never my strong suite. Look forward to seeing how you use the puppets. I was hopeing they would show up in the teaser so we knew for sure what type of puppet you are talking about. Searching the web for Puppettos, it looks like they may be hand glove puppets unless you are using the finger puppets they sell. These are really pretty easy to use. Just sit in front of the mirror and practice. Caution: Do not do this when you have guest in the house... they may try to have you carted off.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff. I believe its safe to say you are the member with the most northerly residence. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
