My new puppet-Logu Posted by Bhanu on Nov 10, 2009
Hi,
I tried this simple foam head puppet LOGU as a sample for my next workshop for teachers. I used two foam circles (size of a quarter plate...one bigger(1 inch) than the other) then finished the mouth plate and glued the jaw separately. This puppet is based on Bruce Chesse's SPONG-EES method.
I am sure some of you would have tried this method. I altered the design and added the jaw separately.
Would be happy to get your response.

It is always fun to see real puppets -not just drawings - made from the Spong-ees method. I have not tried it myself but now seeing yours I am prone to give it a try for my elementary school students. THANKS for sharing!!

Thanks Billy & LJ...you are right. When I saw the drawings I was not able to
understand the final shape. When I tried I was simply amazed with the result.
I did modifications like using proper glue instead of fixing with staple pins (as mentioned in the
book),then the nose, ears etc did give some character. If hands are attached then I
will have a complete puppet..I ran short of foam sheet for the hands..will fix
it once I get my stock.
I have to keep the process simple since teachers here cannot spend more than a day
in a workshop & this method is just right for them.
LJ..do try & post the pics.
