So, my nephew turned six last month, which incidentally is the same age I was when I received my first real puppet. He's expressed an interest in my puppets, so I decided to make his Christmas gift. Couldn't decide what puppet to make for him.

Decided on this:



And the model? My nephew of course!



I wasn't able to animate the puppet for the photo (I was by myself at the time so I couldn't be photographer and puppeteer without some serious flexibility and dexterity!) so his eyes aren't as focused in the picture as they are in real life. The book is a joke - my nephew's initials are ARG so we tease him about being a pirate. The book is called "ARG I Am a Pirate!" I actually wrote a little short story to go with it.

What a lucky nephew you have. I wish someone had given me a puppet when I was six.
