Sinterklaas Day puppet show Posted by LJ on Dec 06, 2009
Thought I would post a few pictures from the puppet show on Sinterklaas Day yesterday. It was lots of fun and the children had a great time. (however I lost my voice and now I am trying to recover before my show tomorrow!)IMG_4945IMG_4971IMG_4982IMG_4954IMG_4984IMG_4986IMG_4989

Well it is good that you typed out your message since that will rest your voice....lol.....I also suggest some fresh lemon to help the vocal cords.....anyways looks like you had a great time like usual....thanks for sharing.

Hi LJ,

Seems it was great fun for all the children who have been watching the show. Thx for sharing some pictures.
Hope you don't mind that I post some pictures of our show we have brought during 3 weekends here in Belgium. Sinterklaas is THE friend of all the children over here. It's always a plesure to see the reactions on the childrens faces while playing.

Thanks for sharing your pictures - those are beautiful marionettes! I'm sure your shows were awesome!  You are right - seeing the faces of the kids is SO rewarding!!

Both of you have done a wonderful job putting together those beautiful shows.  I wish I could see it all in action.  I second Daryl's advice about the lemon.  It's worked great for me in the past.

Had to look Sinterklaas Day up on Wiki as I had no idea of the event. It looked like Punch in some of your photos LJ so I was going to ask if you use a swazzle?
But from what I have read it has nothing to do with Punch and Judy so my swazzle question may go unabated.

Great pictures from both sides of the pond!  Love to see shots of puppet working away.

Thought I would add the link to the Wikipedia page on Sinterklaas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas

Thanks for all the comments.  No, we don't use a swazzle, but Jan Klaasen is sort of like Punch and Katrijn is sort of like Judy. Just the Dutch version of Punch and Judy. Another website I just found http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pageID=23 has some fun information too!
My voice is still struggling and I have a show at 4:00 today.  I am hoping and praying for 45 minutes of voice but in the mean time I am whispering and drinking lemon juice in warm water.
