Christmas gift exchange project Posted by cvzdesign on Dec 08, 2009
This year, on another board we are doing a gift exchange between moderators.
The person I got is very creative and does theater, so I thought he might like a puppet.

I started taking some pictures in the process intending on getting them up as I went along, but I finished last night, and have to ship him overseas, so I need to get to the mail ASAP.

I am very happy with the way he came out.   I loved the material and wasn't sure what I would do with it when I bought it, but knew it would be fun.
I used the foamie sheets for the mouth board instead of a harder cardboard or foam board this time.
I like the flexibility, but don't like the puffing up I see in the mouth.  I'll have to go and see if Stiq has any mouthboard tutorials.

I also tried the 3-D tongue this time, and like it very much.  I don't remember who posted about doing that, but thanks!
Also added the nose, giving a bit more shape to the head, and added the hair while sewing the head fleece together instead of after, because the mohawk look fit well with this character.

I think he will find a very happy new owner when he finishes his trip through the mail.

Thanks Billy.
Usually I've had the opposite problem, where large photos get resized tiny.
Sorry, I didn't realize they would be so large.
