Question for Stiq Puppets Posted by Wonderologist on Jan 09, 2010
Hi.
I've watched the videos put out by Stiq Puppets and I think they are great. I see the advertisements counting down to new episodes. I wanted to see the last one but I had to go to work. However, when I eagerly went back to blog tv it was the same episode about ears. My question is: are the advertisements accurate countdowns to when you are doing a show, or do they just run automatically? I would hate to miss an episode, and I want to make sure that I am not just searching for it right. If you made a new one since the ears ep can you point me to it? I just want to be able to follow what you do. Thanks.

We had a show on Monday but the main presenter had to cancel which left daryl in the lurch. So all we did was chat and a little question and answer. Not really anything to record.

Oh, is that what happened. Yeah I was all jazzed and then I couldn't be there. So I went straight to it after work. I just wanted to make sure that I had everything right, that I was going to the right place and all that. Also once he mentioned arm rods that pivoted with some kind of mechanism, but I could never find the video that he was referring to. Do you know what is the functional advantage is of having rods that pivot? Thus far mine have only been stationary and I wasn't aware they had them any other way until I heard him mention that.

Yes I have been away for the holidays and as Jon described it was a question, answer and chat session. I will be making more as we go but I am really encouraging anyone who would like to present something it would help the community and the future in puppet making on the internet. I thank you for your question and I hope that answers it. As I said on another topic I am getting the video's downloaded there are many that are not on blog TV or YouTube so you will be seeing some more. My goal is to have them all up and labelled/tagged by the end of this month.

When I get access to a camera, I could show how I make my eyes. Also re-attchable arms, which are handy for costuming and substitute arms for film making. ( such as arms with and without rods, arms, that are all wired for posing, and hands attached to different props or with move mechanisms installed.) You can do all that if you can interchange your arms. If I can not find a video camera, maybe I can send you pictures and you can either reproduce it for people or use them to explain. But I would definitely like to give back to this idea because I have received so much from it. Also can we donate to it? If you make it a podcast you could reach sooooo many people.

Wonderologist,
All you really need for BlogTV is a webcam you attach to your camera. They are cheaper often the full out digital cameras. The quality may not be as good but the sites like BlogTV can not handle the higher quaility video anyway.
