A little puppetry related tourism Posted by Chris Arveson on Jan 10, 2010
On the way home from Russia, we spent a day in London. Having never been there, before, I took one of those bus tours, to see as much as I could in very little time. At any rate, it was fun to see this pub on Fleet Street.
I will try to post a little about the trip and Peter and the Wolf, after I get some sleep.

Here is the only puppet related picture I have so far. I still haven't gotten my baggage from British Airways, that was given them in Moscow on January 7. I have pictures on a friend's computer that he has promised me, just as soon as he receives his baggage back. I also know that a video was taken, I'm just trying to figure out how to get my sticky little fingers on it.
At any rate, Peter here is posing with Galeena and me as I am saying goodbye to him. He has defected, and is now staying in a little village just outside Tomsk, in Siberia. Galeena is a member of the Tomsk United Methodist Church who helped sponsor our visit to Tomsk. She is also the director of the "Museum of Peaceful Toy" in that little village. Peter decided to join the exhibit of American toys in the museum.
I have given away puppets on several previous trips, but they were all puppets I had purchased. This time I felt like I was giving up my own child!
I have also been fighting a mostly losing battle against some kind of virus, ever since I returned home, and find it difficult to put coherent thoughts together. Hopefully I will be able to have pictures and health soon, and will tell more. It was a most tremendous trip.
