what types of wood would be the best to use for carving marionettes out of? I'm finally getting enough time to start working on one.

Hi Steve,

nice to see that there is another member that is going to carve marionettes .
The best wood to use for carving is lime. It is very easy to carve - it is a 'soft' wood.
Where I live it isn't very easy to find because timber merchants say that it is as paper.
I wish you a lot of fun carving your puppet and... keep us informed with pics.

I want to add this tip - but maybe you know this already: it's very impotant before starting to carve that of the piece of wood that the sides should be perpendicular.
