I am building my first puppet! (yay me!)
I have the head done, and ready for eyes and hair.. I have the hair decided on, I just need some help choosing eyes.. I have a few kinds here, but I'm not happy with any of them..
I want her to look like a baby monster
any and all suggestions are welcome..

What kinds do you have? Maybe one of them would work with a bit of modification. Take a picture of each set on the puppet. Just balance them or pin them on to try them out. Also seeing what you have may give others some inspiration they could share with you.

I love that head pattern! Looks great I happen to be partial to spoon eyes, either the ovals or round soup spoons. Use double sided tape to hold them temporarily on, then see how they'd look with scraps of different colored fleece as eyelids, etc.... some combination of colors, textures, and materials may jump out at you! If you want it to be a baby, remember, the bigger the better with the eyes and pupils (imo)
Try different things out, experiment, take pics!

ok, to answer the questions.. I started out with the scooter head, but, didn't like it, and it was too small, so.. after having glued it all up, pressed it all together, etc.. I cut off the seam all the way to the dip in the face before the "snout/nose" area. I put in a gusset, with about 4 inches wide at the neck, tapering to the nose, not to a point, but to a rounded edge.
then I added in a small triangle gusset at the front of the neck, 1.5" wide.. 2' high.
i'm happy with the shape and size now
ok, here are all my images..
I prefer the spoons.. the pupils are just psp'd in - i'll paint em later. ( i also like the teddy noses...lol)... but they are a bit boring.
I didn't get any soup spoons, tho i wish I had..

I think that the first two are the best looking ones, are they the spoons?? anyway, they are great, but maybe with bigger pupils and irises, as that tends to give a very young wide eyes look, but then again, if you where to find some really big black half domed buttons (bigger than the ones in some of the other pictures) then I'm sure that they would look great too and still give the wide eyed baby look, but its your choice, what are you most happy with out of the eyes, i suggest you go with what you like the most!!

I vote for eyes one or two. I think I like number two eyes the best of those two.

I agree. I vote for eyes 1 or 2. What about putting eyelashes just on the outside edge of both eyes. Opens the eyes up.
