angelred4kids...I love your Alligator...was it purchased or made?  if made, where did you get the pattern?  And I have a feeling it could become a fun time around the house!  We looked around this morning through some of the galleries and ahve found some we want to work toward...I have so many scripts from years ago, Looks like now we will make our puppets to go with our scripts!

As far as the head design...our old church has some "pupplets"  that is what Auby is fashioned after (but on a much larger scale).  The hardest thing we have encountered thus far has been the body...sculpting the foam to look right has been tough.  We purchased 1" thick foam, is that the best to use or try to find a smaller thickness? And any patterns for body making would be much appreciated.

Are you sculpting the foam or using a pattern and gluing it together?  If you are cutting out the pattern and glueing then 1/2" foam is better.

Auby was a Free Hand Pattern, then sewn together.  I would like to try a sculpted foam one, but that may be later on in the future.

Okay, first, welcome to P&S and the great adventure God has started you on. I have a puppet ministry here in Indiana that works with missions and so on. I have loads of info and literature on how to get started and so on. I have info for free scripts, software, and even free website info. I am always looking for ways to help others bring puppets back into the greatest form of entertainment. If you need anything, just ask.
