Lol, Shawn! It wasn't really 'off topic' just a little extreme. I was just thinking out loud what I could use a puppet this size for at my church, actually one of my son's suggested that we use him for a bad character instead, and he came up with a 'demonic principality', since they're always portrayed as being massive hulking creatures. Has no one read any Frank Peretti?
Ok, can somebody help me out here? I thought it was funny anyway!

Well I did kind of get it although I have not read Frank Peretti, but I guess I was trying to make it into more.   I've been stuck in front of the computer this past week trying to work some things out and just wanted to make sure I had not missed a world take over or something.

Mmm, I was hoping you were bored or something. Well all you've missed is the ice hockey? I think c'da have it, unless this isn't live and everyone in north america knows what the score was?

I have read most all of Frank Peretti's books! I totally understand your comment!

Thanks LJ

Just a quick update everyone, the shows were really great! If you want to see pictures you can go to our website www.puppetscan.com and click on 'recent work'. We have to do these shows again at our church soon so I will post photos here from that event, since we don't have any photos for the first skit.

We have another booking for easter saturday coming up at a local mall, they are having an Easter Carnival which should be fun, our puppets get to storytell and interact with the children... and sing a song at the end too. Looking forward to it.

@ Shawn, remember I was asking about using 'biscuits' for the armrod set up, well I found these at etsy, they are $8.70 per 100 and 1.5ins wide. I came up with an idea of how to make the rods removeable, with the limited resources that I have here on the island.... I'm gonna 'sandwich' a small length of clear plastic tubing between 2 biscuits, and then when I've glued it in place in the hand and sewn up the opening (so maybe a 1/4 ins of the clear tubing shows on the outside) , I can then insert the dowelling into it, the size I have fits pretty snug and almost sticks in place, so it takes a lot to remove it, which is good. I hope this idea works. Also, if the dowelling breaks I can just replace them without taking apart the puppet hand. Great for travelling too... armrods permanently attached to puppets can be tricky to accommodate in boxes.

Great idea Rosie on the arm rods.  I think it well work.  In fact I am not sure you need to use two biscuits glued together. Just glue your plastic tube to the one disk. If you are worried it is not going to stick glue a piece of fabric like felt over the top of the tube that is cut the size of the biscuit.  In fact I would do that anyway for reinforcement.

Hey, Shawn, yes, you're probably right about using just one and the fabric too. I just ordered 200 so that should last me quite a while.
